The Central Bank of Uruguay welcomed nearly 250 visitors to a Heritage Day exhibition featuring numismatic pieces and artworks depicting Indigenous cultures and their place in the country’s history. The display included UYU 1 banknotes issued in 1930 and 1935 with images of Indigenous people, as well as a UYU 10 coin minted in 2015 to commemorate the bicentenary of the 1815 Land Regulation. The latter is the only Uruguayan coin depicting an Indigenous person and was produced as both a circulating coin and a commemorative issue in 900 fine silver.
