The Bank of Korea published results from its March 2026 Consumer Tendency Survey showing the Composite Consumer Sentiment Index (CCSI) fell to 107.0, down 5.1 points from February. The decline was driven by weaker views on domestic economic conditions, with the current domestic economy index down nine points to 86 and the future domestic economy index down 13 points to 89. Assessments of current living standards fell two points to 94 and expectations for future living standards fell four points to 97, while expected household income eased two points to 101 and expected household spending was unchanged at 111. Inflation expectations were reported at 2.7% for one year ahead, 2.6% for three years ahead, and 2.5% for five years ahead. The survey was conducted from 10 to 17 March 2026 with 2,266 responses from 2,500 households nationwide.
