The Asia Pacific Group on Money Laundering adopted its initial mutual evaluation reports under the Global 5th Round, comprising three joint Financial Action Task Force and APG reports for Malaysia, Singapore and Canada. Members also agreed on two-year strategic priorities aligned with the APG Strategic Plan 2024–2028 and began a new typologies project on trade-based money laundering. The annual meeting considered responses to cyber fraud and related money laundering, including further collaboration across the FATF Global Network and follow-up to the APG’s July 2026 report on cyber scam hubs and human trafficking. Members also discussed preparations for Global 5th Round evaluations, asset recovery through non-conviction-based forfeiture and more targeted international cooperation. In parallel, 26 APG members and 13 technical assistance donors and providers held 31 meetings to coordinate anti-money laundering and counterterrorist financing capacity building and agree priorities for the coming year.

The Asia Pacific Group on Money Laundering adopted the first three joint FATF and APG mutual evaluation reports of the Global 5th Round, covering Malaysia, Singapore and Canada. It also agreed on two-year strategic priorities, launched a trade-based money laundering typologies project and advanced coordination on cyber fraud, international cooperation and technical assistance.
