The Central Bank of Chile has opened registration for the second edition of its National Financial Education Olympiad, run through its Central in Your Life programme in partnership with INACAP. The competition is aimed at students in the final two years of secondary school across Chile and is designed to strengthen knowledge of economics and finance, including informed financial decision-making, responsible personal resource management, and understanding of the economic and financial system. Students compete in teams of two to three with a teacher tutor. Assessed topics are aligned with the current school curriculum and cover economy and society, civic education, personal finance, the financial system, current economic developments, and the role of the Central Bank of Chile. The competition has three stages: an initial online theoretical test for all registered teams, in-person zonal semifinals at INACAP sites, and a national in-person final in Santiago at the central bank. Prizes of up to CLP 1000000 are available per student, with an equivalent financial incentive for the teacher tutor, alongside other awards for high-performing teams. The first edition was held in 2025 as part of the central bank’s centenary and drew around 1,000 teams from all 16 regions of the country.
