HM Treasury has appointed Lea Paterson CBE and Matthew Tobin to the Financial Conduct Authority Board as non-executive directors. Both will begin initial three-year terms on Oct. 1, 2026. Paterson brings experience in regulation, central banking, governance and risk management, including senior roles at the Bank of England. Tobin is a senior financial services lawyer and former Slaughter and May partner who has advised the government, regulators and financial institutions on systemic risk, statutory schemes and major market interventions. The Economic Secretary to the Treasury and the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade made the appointments jointly.
