The European Council published an overview of the main Council of the EU and European Council meetings and agenda items scheduled over the coming fortnight, covering social policy, economic and financial affairs, foreign affairs, energy, environment and preparations for the March European Council. Economic and finance ministers meeting in Economic and Financial Affairs Council on 10 March 2026 are set to discuss the market integration and supervision package under the EU savings and investment union agenda, and to adopt a recommendation on Ireland’s medium-term fiscal-structural plan. Other items flagged include a Eurogroup meeting on 9 March 2026, European Semester-related discussions in both the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council on 9 March 2026 and the General Affairs Council on 17 March 2026, and a European Council meeting on 19-20 March 2026 where EU leaders are expected to address competitiveness and the Single Market and the next Multiannual Financial Framework alongside geopolitical and security topics.
