The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) announced that the District Court has fixed 14 September 2026 as the start date for the trial of Mr Stevens Yip Chi Fai, Ms So Lung Ying, Mr Lau Ka Wing and Ms Chan Sin Ying, who are described as key members of an alleged sophisticated ramp-and-dump syndicate. The proceedings stem from an SFC investigation. The four defendants pleaded not guilty to a charge of conspiracy to employ a scheme with intent to defraud or deceive in securities transactions, under section 300 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance and sections 159A and 159C of the Crimes Ordinance. Bail pending trial was granted on unchanged conditions, including restrictions on leaving Hong Kong, surrender of travel documents, cash bail of HKD 500,000, HKD 50,000, HKD 400,000 and HKD 400,000 respectively, and requirements to reside at their reported address and notify the Police in advance of any address changes.
