The Hellenic Capital Market Commission announced that its chair, Vasiliki Lazarakou, has been unanimously re-elected by the International Organization of Securities Commissions’ (IOSCO) European Regional Committee to serve as the committee’s representative on the IOSCO Board for the 2026–2028 term, marking a third consecutive mandate. IOSCO, headquartered in Madrid, is the main international forum for cooperation among securities regulators and a global standard setter, with more than 200 members from over 100 countries representing over 95% of global capital markets. The European Regional Committee has 52 members and is one of IOSCO’s four regional committees, focusing on European securities market issues. Lazarakou described the re-election as a vote of confidence from European peers and said the Commission will seek to contribute to IOSCO board-level dialogue and the development and adoption of best practices.
