The Reserve Bank of India revised deposit interest rate disclosure requirements for regional rural banks, effective Oct. 1, 2026. Deposit rates, including bulk deposit rates, must follow the rate schedule disclosed in advance on each bank’s website. Bulk deposit rates must be posted at 10 am on every business day, with a grace period until 10:10 am. Rates offered on deposits, including bulk deposits, must also be uniform across all branches and customers. Banks may not discriminate between deposits of similar amounts accepted on the same date at any of their offices.

Reserve Bank of India revises regional rural bank deposit rate rules, sets daily 10:10 am bulk rate deadline
The Reserve Bank of India will require regional rural banks to publish bulk deposit rates by 10:10 am on each business day and apply the rates disclosed in advance on their websites. From Oct. 1, 2026, deposit rates must also be uniform across branches and customers, without discrimination between comparable deposits accepted on the same date.
