Central Bank of Paraguay President Carlos Carvallo will chair the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand, from Oct. 12 to 17. He will be the first Paraguayan official to hold the role in the country’s more than 70 years of participation in the institutions. Carvallo will lead and participate in sessions addressing the global economic outlook and challenges, as well as priorities for growth, financial stability and sustainable development. He is also scheduled to meet IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and representatives of central banks, finance ministries and multilateral institutions.
