The Taiwan Financial Services Commission reported that domestic bank lending to small and medium-sized enterprises reached TWD 11,423.8 billion at the end of July 2026, up TWD 132.7 billion from June. This extends the increase from TWD 10,888.4 billion at the end of 2025, when banks exceeded the annual SME lending growth target. SME loans accounted for 61.62% of lending to all enterprises and 65.17% of lending to private enterprises, down 0.98 and 1.05 percentage points, respectively, from June. The average nonperforming loan ratio remained unchanged at 0.20%, and the commission continued to encourage SME lending alongside appropriate risk controls and management.
