The Albania Financial Services Authority reported that its Executive General Director, Mimoza Kaçi, participated in the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ International Insurance Forum 2025 in Washington, D.C., where she set out Albania’s experience in shifting the insurance market toward digitalisation as a lever for broader financial inclusion. Speaking on the “Product and Technology Development” panel, Kaçi argued that Albania and other Southeast European regulators can help advance insurance digitalisation by applying international standards and adopting regulatory models tailored to developing markets, with a focus on transparency and stronger consumer protection. She also framed digitalisation as a national-level strategic catalyst, including for the insurance sector’s role in inclusion and its protective function. The panel was moderated by New Jersey’s Department of Banking and Insurance Commissioner Justin Zimmerman and included Ekhosuehi Iyahen of the Insurance Development Forum and Suzette Vogelsang of the International Monetary Fund.
