The Central Bank of Seychelles announced Vanessa Petrousse as the 2025 recipient of its Guy Morel High Achievement Scholarship Programme, awarding the postgraduate scholarship under the programme’s seventh edition. Petrousse will pursue postgraduate studies in Sustainable Finance with Financial Technology at Heriot-Watt University, Dubai later this year. She currently works at the Financial Services Authority and holds a Bachelor of Business (Honours) in International Business and Marketing, as well as a Diploma in Capital Markets from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. The 2025 call for applications ran from 1 November 2024 to 31 January 2025 and offered a range of undergraduate and postgraduate subject areas; the Central Bank reported five postgraduate applications and no undergraduate applications, down from the previous edition. The scholarship programme, established in 2018, provides two fully funded scholarships annually (one undergraduate and one postgraduate), with six awardees having completed their programmes and three currently studying. The Central Bank indicated it will increase outreach and stakeholder engagement to raise awareness of the programme and attract more applicants in future editions.
