The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) hosted a delegation from the Bank of Korea (BOK) and its advisory group under the 2025 BOK Knowledge Sharing Partnership (BOK-KPP), focusing on cooperation outcomes and work to strengthen the SBV’s balance of payments statistics. SBV Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh highlighted a decade of SBV-BOK cooperation through the KPP and noted that the 2025 programme is progressing as planned. The advisory work, led by senior advisor Jaesung Hur, is centred on an advisory report on “Strengthening the statistical capacity of the balance of payments”, with recommendations including improving the legal framework and enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of statistical reporting databases, including the foreign exchange information system. SBV units were instructed to study and incorporate the recommendations into advisory and operational work. SBV also asked BOK to continue supporting and coordinating cooperation activities for 2026, aligned with both sides’ needs and resources.
