The Central Bank of Uruguay announced that its Board of Directors is now fully constituted following the appointment of Dr. Julio Luis Sanguinetti as a director. The appointment was made by the President of the Republic acting in the Council of Ministers, with prior approval from the Senate. Sanguinetti holds a doctorate in Law and Social Sciences from the University of the Republic and a Master of Laws from Georgetown University. His background includes private-sector work in investments and commercial law, consulting roles for organisations including the Inter-American Development Bank, INTAL, the International Labour Organization, UNESCO and UNDP, corporate board experience in banking from 2008 to 2018, and public-sector roles including National Representative and Vice President of UTE.
