The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and France’s Financial Markets Authority (AMF) have entered into a memorandum of understanding to facilitate supervisory cooperation and information sharing. The arrangement supports SEC registration and supervision of asset management companies supervised by the AMF that wish to operate in the United States as investment advisers. The SEC will process new and pending registration applications from those companies in light of the agreement. The broader framework covers consultation, cooperation and information exchange concerning investment service providers, investment advisers and investment companies operating in the United States and France and overseen by either authority.
