Elizabeth Warren, ranking member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, said the loss of 23,000 jobs in July, downward revisions of more than 100,000 jobs for May and June, falling job openings and slower wage growth showed a weakening labor market, with monthly job gains averaging 28,000 since President Donald Trump took office compared with 120,000 in 2024.
