The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) convened their ninth annual MAS-CSRC Supervisory Roundtable in Datong, China, bringing together regulators and industry participants to exchange views on capital market developments and explore opportunities for deeper connectivity. Co-chaired by MAS Deputy Managing Director for Financial Supervision Ho Hern Shin and CSRC Vice Chairman Li Ming, discussions covered derivatives regulation, investor protection measures, and advances in the supervision and monitoring of non-bank financial institutions, with a focus on strengthening mutual understanding of supervisory frameworks. The roundtable also addressed efforts to develop equity markets in both jurisdictions, including facilitating high-quality listings and capital raising, alongside industry updates on cross-border initiatives to broaden investor product offerings such as enhanced index collaboration to mobilise capital into the region.
