The State Bank of Vietnam hosted an Asian Development Bank (ADB) delegation led by Nianshan Zhang and agreed to coordinate closely on preparing ADB’s Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) for Vietnam for 2027–2031, including exchanging information, defining priority areas and proposing practical cooperation initiatives. Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh welcomed ADB’s early start to the CPS process and asked that the strategy align with Vietnam’s 2026–2030 socio-economic development plan and reflect key Party and Government directions to ensure consistency with national priorities. The discussions also covered Vietnam’s intended use of official development assistance and concessional borrowing for large-scale and transformative projects, projects in disadvantaged areas and pilot projects using new technologies, while ADB outlined potential support areas including the green economy, major transport infrastructure, digital transformation, private sector development and public-private partnerships, delivered through project lending, budget support and advisory work; both sides agreed to maintain regular exchanges to strengthen cooperation.
