The Angola Insurance Authority (ARSEG) has published the liquidation commission’s lists of recognised and non-recognised creditors for Triunfal Seguros, setting out the outcome of the credit verification process following the claims period. The recognised list covers 26 creditors with total recognised claims of AKZ 58,536,725.48, while the non-recognised list covers four creditors with claims totalling AKZ 213,301,180.32. The notice follows publication of a provisional creditor list in the Jornal de Angola on 30 October 2024 and a 45-day period for filing claims. The lists specify, for each claimant, the amount and the source and nature of the claim, and for non-recognised claims the stated reason for refusal. Creditors were notified of the recognition or non-recognition outcome, and shareholders are not treated as creditors solely by virtue of being shareholders. Interested parties have 10 days from posting and publication to appeal to ARSEG against any act they consider unfavourable, submitting all evidence, under Article 337 of Law No. 14/21 (General Regime of Financial Institutions). Any arbitration on credit verification will take place within a timeframe set by ARSEG at its premises and will be conducted by two experts appointed by the supervisor, with the experts’ remuneration borne by the institution in liquidation under Article 339.
