The Superintendency of Banks of Panama (SBP) held a formal ceremony in memory of former board member Rafael Guardia Pérez, including the unveiling of a commemorative plaque that designates the space as the “Rafael Guardia Pérez Board Meeting Room”. SBP’s senior leadership, board members and Guardia Pérez’s family attended. Superintendent Milton Ayón Wong highlighted Guardia Pérez’s role in strengthening banking supervision practices and the standing of Panama’s financial system, while board chair Felipe Echandi presented a recognition plaque to the family. The commemorative plaque was unveiled by Saríah Sandoval alongside the superintendent.
