Average leu rates fell to 11.02% for consumer loans and 8.17% for mortgage loans. New borrowing by legal entities amounted to MDL 4,478.5 million (down 3.9%), with non-financial companies accounting for 94.1% of corporate lending and 59.9% of total new lending; the average leu rate on corporate loans declined by 0.29 percentage points to 8.46%, while the average foreign-currency rate rose by 0.10 percentage points to 5.26%.
