The National Bank of Serbia announced that it ranked first out of 178 central banks in the latest Gender Balance Index published by the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF), rising from tenth place the previous year. The update highlighted female representation in the bank’s senior leadership, with Governor Jorgovanka Tabaković in her 14th year in office and the vice-governor roles held by Ana Ivković and Dragana Stanić. The bank reported that women hold more than 57% of key management positions, and contrasted this with global research cited in the release indicating women account for 19% of top roles in the banking and financial sector and 33% of broader management roles. It also indicated it will continue supporting leadership development and equal opportunities across decision-making levels.
