The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) held a meeting of its Working Group “Insurance: Inducer of National Development”, a consultative body established to support delivery of a strategic project under SUSEP’s 2024–2027 institutional plan, bringing together stakeholders to discuss deliverables, sectoral agendas and next steps. Chaired by SUSEP superintendent Alessandro Octaviani, the meeting included representatives from the National Confederation of Industry, National Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock, National Confederation of Transport, National Confederation of General Insurance Companies, National Confederation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism, the National Federation of Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers, insurance law associations and a consumer defence institute. SUSEP presented its main 2025 outputs, highlighting consolidation of the regulatory environment and regulation of relevant legal frameworks including Law No. 15.040 and Complementary Law No. 213, alongside agendas linking insurance to infrastructure, transport, agribusiness and industry. Next steps for the Working Group include deepening discussions on the new level of legal protection introduced by recent legislation and consolidating bilateral agendas intended to strengthen insurance as a permanent instrument supporting economic development.
