The Securities and Exchange Commission of the Republic of North Macedonia held a two-day workshop in Skopje on 24–25 April on the EU’s new prudential framework for investment firms under Directive (EU) 2019/2034 (IFD) and Regulation (EU) 2019/2033 (IFR), as part of cooperation with the EU Directorate for Inter-Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement. Experts from Croatia’s Financial Services Supervisory Agency provided training on investment firm capital requirements and the relevant EU rulebook. The programme also covered practical approaches to calculating capital adequacy and how supervisors can monitor it, and formed the fourth TAIEX workshop focused on practical implementation and full implementation of provisions of the Financial Instruments Act and the Law on Prospectuses and Transparency Obligations for Securities Issuers.
