The Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF) took part in the 2025 Annual Summit of the Global Coalition to Fight Financial Crime, held at Abu Dhabi Global Market on 10–11 September, using the forum to underscore the need for strong leadership, a shared vision and cross-stakeholder commitment to advance anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT). MENAFATF’s President, Samya Abou Sharif, delivered opening remarks via a pre-recorded video message highlighting MENAFATF’s role in supporting regional and global efforts by strengthening cooperation among member states, facilitating technical dialogue and advancing policy development aligned with Financial Action Task Force standards. MENAFATF Vice President Hamid Alzaabi also participated, and Executive Secretary Suliman Aljabrin spoke on a panel covering emerging financial crime trends in the MENA region, regional strategic priorities and approaches to implementing FATF standards. The summit brought together over 200 global leaders and experts.
