Tanzania's Ministry of Finance reported on financial education sessions in Musoma Municipality in the Mara Region aimed at ensuring special groups, including people with hearing impairments, women, youth and older people, can access financial literacy support. The ministry presented the programme as a way to help these groups participate more fully in economic activity and strengthen their ability to manage resources. The training covered personal financial management, savings, credit, investment, insurance, deposit insurance, taxation and retirement planning. Delivery involved a ministry technical team working alongside other institutions including UTT AMIS, the National Social Security Fund, the Bank of Tanzania and banks such as Tanzania Commercial Bank, CRDB, NMB and NBC, with sign-language interpretation provided during the sessions; an interpreter involved called for continued training for interpreters to improve service quality.
