The Pensions Superintendency (SIPEN) delivered pension training to more than 140 public servants from the Ministry of Interior and Police and the Dominican Institute for the Evaluation and Research of Educational Quality (IDEICE), aiming to strengthen understanding of the pension system and reinforce the importance of retirement financial planning. Across two consecutive sessions of the talk “What I should know about my pension”, SIPEN officials stressed that workers should verify their contributions with their Pension Fund Administrator (AFP) and ensure employers are up to date on payments, warning that non-compliance can result in the loss of key benefits such as disability and survivors’ pensions. The authority also encouraged periodic review of account statements and reiterated that it will continue pension education initiatives, pointing citizens to SIPEN’s online and in-person services to verify their AFP and raise queries about the pension system.
