Hong Kong's Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau announced four new appointments and three reappointments to the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council Board. Clement Kwok King-man, William Mak Tze-leung, Tony Mak Wing-yin and Norman Nip Sum-ping, SC, will join as nonexecutive directors, while Johnny Chan Kok-chung, Deborah Leung Woon-kan and Professor Phyllis Mo Lai-lan have been reappointed. All seven will serve two-year terms from Oct. 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2028. The council regulates and oversees Hong Kong's accounting profession, with statutory responsibilities covering registration, inspection, investigation and discipline. It also oversees specified statutory functions performed by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
