The Austrian National Bank will open the Money Stories exhibition in Innsbruck on Sept. 24, 2026, presenting the history of money through the themes of power, trust and change. The exhibition will run until autumn 2027. Across 15 sections, it connects economic developments with political decisions and social upheaval, covering subjects from Roman coin reforms and medieval trade to paper money, credit cards and digital currencies. The exhibition also includes Tyrolean artifacts and examines the region’s historical role in European coin production, including Hall in Tirol’s links to the Schwaz silver mine.
