The British Columbia Securities Commission ordered Port Moody resident Brandon Wade Boddy to pay CAD 40,000 and banned him from the investment market for three years for failing to provide records and obstructing an investigation under British Columbia’s Securities Act. Boddy, a consultant to and shareholder in a company under investigation, failed to comply with a formal demand for records despite receiving four extensions. The restrictions prohibit him from acting as a registrant, conducting promotional activities, serving in management roles and trading securities, except in his own account through a registered representative. The panel emphasized the need to deter conduct that interferes with regulatory investigations, while noting there was no evidence of enrichment and that Boddy had no history of securities misconduct.
