The Uzbekistan Ministry of Finance reported that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov met Société Générale regional director Aymeric Arnaud to review existing cooperation and discuss its expansion. The talks focused on cooperation in international financial markets, investment activity, privatization processes and attracting foreign capital, alongside Uzbekistan’s macroeconomic development, structural reforms and measures to support sustainable growth and improve the investment climate. Particular attention was given to the implementation of the privatization program for state-owned enterprises and banks with state ownership. The sides also discussed the results of the UzNIF initial public offering, and Société Générale indicated interest in participating in prospective investment and privatization projects in Uzbekistan and in continuing cooperation. At the close of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, support economic reforms and pursue joint projects aimed at attracting investment into the Uzbek economy.
