The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) announced Dataswyft as the winner of the Global vLEI Hackathon in the Trade, Supply Chain, and SME Finance category, highlighting use cases for the verifiable Legal Entity Identifier (vLEI) in trade digitalization and cross-border workflows. AEOTrade (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. was named runner-up. Dataswyft’s solution uses the vLEI to reduce friction in micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) financing by relying on verifiable digital records to support faster and more affordable access to finance. AEOTrade’s “AEOTrade Chain+vLEI” model integrates the vLEI with blockchain to secure and verify electronic bills of lading, aiming to strengthen authenticity, compliance, and collaboration across international supply chains; the hackathon drew more than 110 submissions from teams worldwide.
