South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service, through its Fn Hub Support Center, held a seminar with Germany Trade and Invest for Korean fintech companies and financial institutions considering expansion into Europe. The event was aimed at broadening overseas expansion beyond Southeast Asia by explaining the structure of European financial and fintech markets and outlining market-entry strategies, with Germany presented as a gateway to the European market. Germany Trade and Invest covered the German economy and financial markets, the advantages of the German market, and city-specific fintech specializations in Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich. It also highlighted that, as of 2024, Germany ranked second in Europe by fintech revenue and third by funding raised. The session reviewed collaboration between German banks and fintech firms, fintech service usage, adoption trends among small and medium-sized enterprises, and German measures to attract foreign fintech investment, including financial support, business environment improvements and BaFin's recent EU Small Banking Regime. The program concluded with a case study from a Korean fintech company that recently established a subsidiary in Latvia.
