The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated in a roundtable in Geneva to discuss implementing the Roadmap for developing interoperability and comparability of sustainable finance taxonomies, a joint initiative launched at COP29 with the International Finance Corporation, the Sustainable Banking and Finance Network, the United Nations Development Programme and the International Platform on Sustainable Finance. Participants agreed the Roadmap should serve as a global platform to coordinate taxonomy initiatives, deepen cooperation and align activities across the sustainable finance ecosystem. The discussion also covered updates on existing initiatives, tools and country-support programmes, and highlighted the need to link the work with global policy forums including the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group, the United Nations Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, and COP30 and COP31.
