The Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) published its 2024 Annual Report, setting out initiatives and results from FPSB and its global network aimed at strengthening the financial planning profession and expanding the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP) professional community. The report records 3.1% global growth to 230,648 CFP professionals, including milestones cited in the United States (100,000+), Brazil (10,000+), South Africa (5,000+), India (3,000+), and Ireland (+1,000). It also highlights updates to CFP certification requirements, the launch of FPSB’s Psychology in Practice education content, and engagement with the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) through contributions to regulatory discussions and financial education initiatives. Other featured activities include collaboration across the FPSB network on topics such as AI, workforce development and strategic advocacy, and public awareness campaigns including the eighth annual World Financial Planning Day across 20 territories with an estimated global reach of more than 580 million, alongside support for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Global Money Week.
