The Reserve Bank of India has increased the minimum Cash Reserve Ratio that all scheduled banks must maintain each day from 90% to 99% of the required amount from the reporting fortnight beginning Oct. 16, 2026, following a review of liquidity conditions, while banks must continue to meet the prescribed CRR on a fortnightly average basis.
