The European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) has published revised Guidelines on the systematic exchange of information within Colleges of Supervisors, setting out a more proportionate and practical approach for supervisors to share relevant information. The update is intended to strengthen cooperation among National Competent Authorities involved in supervising cross-border insurance groups in the European Economic Area. The revised framework streamlines the annexes and updates legal references from the 2015 version to reflect recent regulatory developments. It also adds provisions for sharing group Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) reports within colleges to support a collective understanding of group risks, while maintaining strict confidentiality safeguards. EIOPA emphasises that the Guidelines do not introduce new reporting requirements, relying instead on data already reported, and that they supplement the existing Guidelines on the operational functioning of colleges.
