The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan organised a training session for media representatives aimed at improving financial-sector awareness and professional skills, focused on systemically important financial institutions and their role in the financial system. Delivered as an interactive presentation, the session covered the criteria used to determine systemic importance for banks and insurers, as well as how the systemic importance index is calculated. Participants’ questions were addressed and discussions also covered initiatives aimed at developing financial markets, alongside the central bank’s ongoing focus on strengthening professional cooperation with media institutions and building journalists’ knowledge of economics, finance and central banking.
