The State Bank of Vietnam, led by Standing Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu, held a working session with the State Bank of Vietnam Regional Branch 15 and local credit institutions to review the branch’s operations after its reorganisation under the regional-branch model and to set priority tasks for 2025. The central bank reported that the branch has largely stabilised its organisational set-up and that core activities, including cash supply, digital transaction processing, and inspection and supervision, have continued without disruption. Regional Branch 15 is headquartered in Rach Gia City, Kien Giang Province, with transaction points in Dong Thap, Ca Mau and An Giang, and has established branch leadership and seven functional departments. It oversees state management of monetary and banking activities for more than 1,800 outlets of commercial banks, people’s credit funds and microfinance institutions across Kien Giang, An Giang, Dong Thap and Ca Mau, where total mobilised funding is about VND 276 trillion and outstanding loans are about VND 451 trillion. The branch identified remaining issues around staffing placements, premises and support for staff relocating to the headquarters, while credit institutions reported no additional procedures arising from the new model. Dao Minh Tu instructed the branch to continue completing administrative and staffing arrangements, streamline work allocation, and ensure consistent controls over cash operations, vault management, and supervision, while steering credit growth towards local priority sectors to support 2025 economic growth objectives.
