Greece's Ministry of National Economy and Finance reported that Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis, in his capacity as President of the Eurogroup, met International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in Washington on the margins of the IMF Spring Meetings to discuss the effects of the energy crisis and broader challenges for the global economy. During the meeting, Pierrakakis presented his assessment of Greece’s economic trajectory, pointing to steady growth, fiscal responsibility and efforts to strengthen resilience amid heightened uncertainty. The ministry also referenced recent remarks by Georgieva describing Greece as among Europe’s best performing economies, and noted that Pierrakakis attended a dinner hosted by Georgieva for finance ministers where he exchanged views with counterparts on international developments and prospects for cooperation.
