The Bank of Portugal issued a public warning that the purported entity “Credifiducia - Instituição Financeira de Crédito, Lda”, operating via a Facebook profile, is not authorised to carry out in Portugal any financial activities reserved for institutions under its supervision, including lending, credit intermediation, or advisory services on credit agreements. The alert reiterates that lending may only be performed by authorised undertakings under the Legal Framework of Credit Institutions and Financial Companies, and that credit intermediation and advisory services on credit agreements may only be performed by authorised undertakings under the Legal Framework of Credit Intermediaries. The central bank directs consumers to its website and the Bank Customer Website for the lists of authorised undertakings.
