The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo has marked International Money Week 2025 through its financial education activities, focusing on improving citizens’ economic and financial knowledge, particularly among children and young people. As part of the programme, it awarded prizes to primary and secondary school students for financial education-themed videos and artwork under the motto “Think before you click, for a secure financial tomorrow”. The central bank awarded five prizes for videos and 20 prizes for artwork, following a public call opened in February 2025 that attracted 119 student applications from schools across Kosovo. Governor Ahmet Ismaili linked the initiative to the central bank’s consumer protection focus, with particular emphasis on youth, and pointed to planned efforts to provide opportunities and platforms that increase transparency, support informed decision-making, and strengthen users’ financial security amid rapid digital transformation. International Money Week is an OECD-led global initiative involving 176 countries, and the central bank’s activities are scheduled to run from 17 to 21 March 2025.
