The Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission has launched a public consultation on proposed amendments to its rules on advertising by digital asset business operators, aiming to improve how investment risk warnings are presented and to support more responsible advertising practices. The proposal would adjust the required font size for warning notices to align with securities advertising rules and market practice, remove the requirement for continuous warnings during advertisements on the basis that principle-based guidelines are sufficient, and standardise warning notices into a single most stringent format covering both cryptocurrencies and digital tokens. It would also update requirements for social media advertising to reflect these changes. The public hearing runs until 29 January 2025.
