The European Payments Council (EPC) has launched the second phase of the EPC Directory Service (EDS) Pilot in a test environment, extending participation to all Verification Of Payee (VOP) scheme participants and qualified Routing and/or Verification Mechanisms (RVMs). The pilot phase will run until the end of August. Eligible payment service providers (PSPs) and RVMs are being notified of access to the EDS Test platform via the email addresses provided in the VOP adherence document or the RVM agreement. The EPC aims to launch the EDS in Live mode (pre-production) in early September 2025, ahead of the VOP scheme entering into force on 5 October 2025, and PSPs and RVMs onboarded during the pilot will be recognised in the Live platform without needing to re-onboard. Further actions and decisions on the use of data entered into the EDS during the pilot phase will be communicated by the EPC in due course.
