Croatia's Ministry of Finance announced that it will host the “Support for Sustainable Finance” conference on 4 April 2025 in Zagreb, bringing together public- and private-sector experts to exchange experience on sustainable finance and sustainable business. The programme includes an introductory presentation on the European Commission’s Omnibus package presented on 26 February 2025, which is aimed at simplifying European Union rules on sustainability and investment. Opening remarks are scheduled from the Head of the European Commission Representation in Croatia Zrinka Ujević, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Green Transition Marija Vučković, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Marko Primorac. Two panels will follow, covering business transformation towards sustainability and the financial sector’s contribution to that transformation, including discussion of demand for green financial products, alignment of national rules with the EU framework, and the availability of reliable data. The conference will also present green public procurement and outline a TSI project to support entities that are or will become subject to sustainability reporting, alongside plans for a future Sustainability Centre intended to serve as a central hub for sustainability reporting. Attendance is free, with registration required, and the event will also be available via video livestream.
