The Central Bank of Uruguay reported that its vice president, Ana Claudia de los Heros, participated on 2 July in the Mercosur meeting of economy ministers and central bank presidents, alongside Uruguay’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Gabriel Oddone, in Buenos Aires under Argentina’s pro tempore presidency. Held within the framework of the LXVI Ordinary Meeting of the Common Market Council and the Mercosur Presidents’ Summit, the session brought together economic and monetary authorities from Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay and was chaired by Argentina’s Economy Minister Luis Caputo. Discussions focused on maintaining an orderly fiscal framework to support macroeconomic stability and long-term sustainable growth, and on advancing the bloc’s economic and trade integration, including strengthening links with other regions and developing the member countries’ trade potential.
