The Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency of Türkiye has set higher coverage limits for compulsory traffic insurance to apply in 2026, increasing the sums insured to better reflect current economic conditions. The property damage limit rises from TRY 300,000 to TRY 400,000, while the bodily injury limit increases from TRY 2.7 million to TRY 3.6 million. The new limits will apply to all in-force insurance contracts without any additional premium. The tariff approach for certain vehicle groups has also been revised by usage type: for policies issued in the name of an individual operator, premiums will be determined using the “private use” category for up to five vehicles (including five) within the same vehicle group, and the “corporate use” category for more than five vehicles.
