The U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission announced that Lori J. Schock will retire as Director of the Office of Investor Education and Assistance at the end of December, ending a tenure in the role that began in 2009. During her leadership, the office expanded the SEC’s investor education and assistance efforts, including building Investor.gov, producing Investor Alerts and Bulletins, publishing Director’s Take articles, and overseeing the handling of hundreds of thousands of investor questions and complaints through the investor assistance program. The SEC also highlighted initiatives to reach investors through campaigns and tools such as the HoweyCoins fake initial coin offering website and HoweyTrade program, alongside educational videos.
