Jersey’s Financial Services Unit announced that the Government-led Financial Services Competitiveness Programme will be showcased at a public conference on 23 July 2025, providing the first significant update since the initiative was launched earlier in 2025 with Jersey Finance Ltd, the Jersey Financial Services Commission and industry partners. The programme is intended to identify new areas of growth for Jersey’s financial and related professional services sector, including both near-term changes and longer-term improvements. Deputy Ian Gorst, Minister for External Relations with responsibility for Financial Services, is due to outline progress so far and discuss future plans, with the work ultimately to be consolidated into a report setting a strategy for the next ten years and beyond. Sessions will cover workstreams on tax, ‘quick win’ changes and broader improvements to Jersey’s business and regulatory environment, alongside discussion of global trends affecting international finance centres and insights from the Jersey Financial Services Commission’s strategy and registry review. The event will run from 09:00 to 11:00 at the Radisson Blu Hotel and will be livestreamed online.
